Concrete Foundations
Raft floors are our specialty. We have a 20 year history of designing and building raft foundations in New Zealand.
Our experience and combined knowledge of designing and building raft floors is unmatched in the New Zealand market. With our in-house specialist building, quantity surveying and engineering skills, we are confident in creating the best foundation solution for each project we undertake.
Raft Systems
Rib Raft, Super Slab, Vision are all types of raft slab systems. They are variations of a two-way spanning slab which uses polystyrene pods to reduce mass which also has the advantage of insulating the foundation and reducing cost.
As a result of constant feedback from our building and quantity surveying team our raft floor designs are a refinement of all the current systems on the market. Subsequently our standard raft floor designs are simple and economical to build.
Customised Specifications
But we don’t shy away when projects are complicated – we excel. We maintain our focus on delivering engineered solutions that are elegant and still simple and practical to build. And our deep understanding of cost directly translates to faster and more predictable build times.

Quality Control
Raft floors are highly engineered to perform a simple but essential function – and they come in a variety of requirements and complexity. We understand the issues involved and care about the details. Every project is carefully considered and all engineering plans are reviewed by our build and quantity surveying team before being sent back to the client.
RAFT SLABS ARE PERFECT FOR

The original slab
Slab on grade or Conventional foundations are traditional NZS 3604 type foundations that were exclusively used prior to Raft floor foundations being developed. They transfer the building loads directly into the ground through foundations excavated into good ground as opposed to distributing throughout the foundation as in a raft slab. The slab itself is rarely a structural component with the exterior foundations and Hardfill doing all the work.
Conventional foundations are good on sloping sites or where the floor level is at least 1.0 m above finished Ground Level. The benefits of Raft foundations are making Traditional, conventional foundations less popular.
